I am at present following the series in the British version on BBC 2. The winner of the competition, the true "apprentice" will be granted the dream job of a lifetime with The Trump Organization and a salary of $250,000. This is the ultimate corporate jungle where staying alive means using both street smarts and book smarts. The big twist is that our teams are thrown out to the wolves of the New York business world with only a few days to complete incredibly difficult tasks, many of which have hundreds of thousands of dollars at stake. Most of them will be assignments that executives face in their daily lives. Tasks each week will incorporate various aspects of business: sales, marketing, promotions, charities, real estate deals, finance, advertising pitches and facilities management. At the conclusion of each task, the winning team will be granted a lavish reward but the losing team must report immediately to Trump's boardroom where one of them will be fired.
Teams will be given time constraints for each task and they will be observed by either Trump himself or members of his staff at every moment along the way. After splitting the group into two teams of 8, Trump then issues the first task. Upon their arrival to New York City (some for the very first time), the 16 candidates will be rushed over to Trump Tower to meet with Donald Trump, the centerpiece and driving force of this series. They will face the challenges of living in close quarters and must compete sometimes humorous but always difficult job assignments and will be forced to think outside the box in order to outshine each other to get to the top.
The tasks will test their intelligence, chutzpah and street-smarts. It's a great little game that cries out for a map and platform freaks will love it."The Apprentice" is a 15-episode unscripted drama in which 16 candidates from all walks of life, including both Ivy League MBA graduates and street entrepreneurs with no college education, will endure rigorous tasks each week while living together in a hip Manhattan loft apartment. Teleports, the oracle (who offers advice for a price) and the princess (who loves to barter) are people who you can meet along the way. There are nice soundtracks that run along behind the gameplay and sound effects if the tinkly tunes get too much. This is useful because there are huge scarecrow like guardians at the end of each level that are just dying to drain your energy (represented by a wizard's face that slowly disappears).Īpprentice is colourful, fun and addictive. They include switches that open up new areas of the game and short cuts to your goal. The game holds lots of hidden surprises as all of the best platform games tend to do. These can be bought from shops along the way and include balloons (to make you jump farther), imp servants to grab items for you from dangerous locations, and extra lives and energy. Each level's time limit is represented by a candle that slowly burns away. These might be fruits, spell components and extra time for the level you are on.

You have to face the problem using only the gifts that mother Nature gave you (your feet) and kick the monsters to death. The other snag to defeating the monsters is your lack of aggressive magical talents. They look as if butter wouldn't melt in their mouth, and it probably wouldn't - they are more keen on the odd magician or two. Crossing it is one thing, crossing it alive and defeating all of Fumo's servants is quite another.įor one thing, you'll have to overcome your conscience, as the monsters are incredibly cute looking. There is only one thing standing in your way - the dangerous land of Fumo the dragon. Ambitious beyond your years, you want to cut short the time of your apprenticeship and become a master wizard.
